A Story Spanning Three Generations

Our story begins in Venice in 1911, when Natale Nardello founded Natale Nardello & Figli as an importer of mattress wool from England. From the start, it wasn’t just about trade, but about understanding materials, ensuring quality, and caring for the customer.

During World War II, the Nardello family moved to Montebelluna, in the province of Treviso. These were challenging years, but the company never stopped. It endured, adapted, and grew. It was during these times that a value was established that still guides us today: continuity.

In the 1950s, the market changed, and so did people’s needs. Gianni Nardello realized that traditional wool mattresses were no longer enough. Something new, modern, and functional was needed. This led to the creation of the spring mattress and the founding of a second company, “Enneflex,” later “Ennerev Materassi,” moved from Montebelluna to Volpago del Montello, in the heart of the Veneto region production district. This second family business also became an important local reference before being sold.

With the third generation, under the guidance of Paolo Nardello, the brand Marcapiuma® was born: a natural evolution of over a century of family experience, expanding the production of the historic Natale Nardello & Figli company with latex mattresses, memory foam mattresses, Waterfoam mattresses, wooden slatted bed bases, pillows, and all bedding accessories. Technology evolves, but the principle remains the same: to create products that truly improve sleep quality.

Even today, rest is not a detail for us. It is daily well-being. It is energy for the day. It is health.

Every Marcapiuma® mattress is created in our production facility, where artisanal experience and attention to detail meet every day. This is not impersonal mass production: each product is manually assembled, finished, and inspected by our artisans, step by step.
The skilled hands crafting each mattress understand the importance of every stitch, padding, and cover. This knowledge has been passed down through generations, transforming selected materials into a sleep system designed to last.
Because each mattress is handcrafted, every mattress is unique. Human touch always leaves an authentic trace. For us, craftsmanship doesn’t mean sterile perfection, but character: small variations that do not compromise quality but make it unique and recognizable.

We believe in tangible quality, the kind you feel night after night. A mattress must accompany restful sleep for years, maintaining consistent comfort and support. That is why we produce directly, without intermediaries, controlling every step of the manufacturing process and following rigorous, verifiable standards.

Tradition is our starting point, but we continually invest in research to improve ergonomics, breathability, and material performance. We only use Oeko-Tex® certified raw materials, safe for health and free from harmful substances.
Since 2000, we have adopted an ISO 9001 quality management system, now updated to the 2015 version. For us, quality is not a marketing claim but a measurable process.
We are also aware of our environmental responsibility: we use recycled cardboard, recyclable nylon, and optimize production processes to reduce waste. Because well-being should be as sustainable as possible.

How a Marcapiuma® Mattress is Made

Selection of Raw Materials

Every mattress begins with choosing the right materials. Even before design and production, the most crucial phase is the careful selection of each component.
We collaborate with qualified suppliers and select tested, certified raw materials, evaluating not only safety but long-term performance. We analyze density, resilience, support, breathability, and durability, because a good mattress must stay comfortable for years, not just months.
We use materials free from harmful substances, safe even for the most sensitive skin, certified CertiPUR®, Oeko-Tex® Standard 100 Class 1 (suitable even for infants), LGA Quality (periodic quality and durability tests), euroLATEX® (European Latex Producers Association).

Every padding, cover, and internal structure is chosen to ensure ergonomics, hygiene, and stability. Nothing is left to chance. Quality sleep starts with what is unseen.
Modern technologies ensure precision and consistency, while artisanal experience guarantees attention to detail. Each mattress is assembled, finished, and inspected because good rest does not allow compromises.
